Percy Circus
Islington · Grade II listed
The full refurbishment of a Grade II listed Georgian house on Percy Circus, one of Islington’s finest early nineteenth-century set pieces.
01Full internal refurbishment
02New rear glazing and timber windows
03Alterations to the rear extension
Listed building consent was granted in 2021 for structural and cosmetic repairs to the existing rear extension, followed in 2022 by planning permission and listed building consent for a wider programme of work.
That programme covered a full internal refurbishment with alterations to the layout, new electrics and plumbing, and new fireplaces, together with alterations to the single-storey rear extension and the garden boundary wall.

Windows and glazing
Timber windows, detailed for a listed house
The single-glazed timber windows to the rear were replaced with new double-glazed timber windows, and the rear extension was given new glazing.
The window details and the ironwork to the doors were each submitted to and approved by Islington Council under the conditions of the listed building consent.
Inside
A Georgian house, brought back into use
Inside, the principal rooms keep their tall sash windows, cornices and marble fireplaces, with wide oak floors and cast iron radiators throughout.
The curved stair, with its mahogany handrail, rises through the full height of the house.
